Peacepainting, Integration and Equality
The Peacepainting method has proven to be a very successful method for helping to process, express and communicate people’s inner world. Scientific research on the Peacepainting method has also established that Peacepainting encourages extraversion, agreeability and other positive social behaviours. With our method, we provide individuals who have had to flee their home countries with tools for expression, and an atmosphere of being taken seriously. Peacepainting has been found to help with bridging gaps and creating a sense of equality for the participants, all of which are very conducive integration.
Workshop Day 1, Alta Integration and Competence Center
On the 13th and 14th of June 2022, we held Peacepainting workshops in collaboration with Alta integrerings- og kompetansesenter and Bodø2024 in Alta in the North of Norway as part of a larger project named Peace and Equality in the North. Alta Integration and Competence Center is an institution in Alta which provides education and language courses for people who have recently moved to Norway as refugees.
Exhibition
The participants’ paintings and messages were lifted during a large exhibition at Alta Museum which was opened on the World Refugee Day, 20th of June 2022. These paintings will also be included in a large exhibition which will take place in Bodø2024.
