As you pass by the bank's windows, you'll be greeted by a display of Peacepainting artwork created during two recent workshops in Tromsø. These paintings are a testament to the power of art to foster dialogue and equality in society.
From Political Dialogue to Creative Expression
This exhibition is the culmination of two Peacepainting workshops held in Tromsø. The first workshop, hosted at Fellesverket in Tromsø, brought together young politicians from various political parties, transcending political affiliations in favor of dialogue and equality. The goal of this workshop was to emphasize the importance of open dialogue and equality, transcending political affiliations to unite in a shared commitment to creating a better society.
A Gathering of Diverse Minds
The second workshop, also hosted at Fellesverket in Tromsø, emphasized the power of art as a medium for communication. This venue, known for embracing diversity and collaboration, provided the perfect backdrop for young participants from various backgrounds to come together and express themselves through the transformative power of art.
"Natural Diversity" - A Tribute to Sami Culture and Nature
One of the standout artworks in the exhibition is John-Egil Magga's "Natural Diversity." In his painting, he beautifully captures the essence of the Sami culture, where red, green, yellow, and blue are the primary colors. John-Egil's artwork celebrates the uniqueness of individuals and encourages us not to be afraid of our differences but to embrace and celebrate them. He also drew inspiration from nature, infusing his painting with a deep sense of connection to the environment.
